Pro Tip: Be sure to save a photo of your gift card number on your phone. This way, you'll always have it handy if there's a remaining balance to use next time!

ask us anything

  • Reformer Pilates is a dynamic full-body workout performed on a specialized piece of equipment called the reformer. It’s designed to build strength, improve flexibility, enhance balance, and support better coordination—all in one empowering practice.

  • Reformer Pilates emphasizes time under tension and smooth, controlled movements. With regular practice, you’ll notice improved strength, mobility, flexibility, and even an uplifted mood—along with many other benefits.

  • Joseph Pilates first developed his method, then called Contrology, during WWI while in an internment camp. He attached springs to hospital beds to help patients exercise without standing. That early invention eventually evolved into the reformer machines we use in studios today.

  • Mat Pilates uses minimal equipment and focuses on bodyweight exercises performed on the mat.

Reformer Pilates, on the other hand, adds resistance through the reformer machine, creating a dynamic progression that’s both challenging and accessible for a wide range of practitioners.

  • Classical Pilates follows Joseph Pilates’ original method, focusing on his precise sequencing, control, and technique.

Contemporary Pilates builds on this foundation, often incorporating props like balls, rings, or weights, and using music to create a group-fitness experience.

At Valeō, we bring a contemporary twist to the classical method for a practice that’s both rooted and refreshing.
