injuries & health concerns

We’re excited to be exploring more specialized class options—such as pre and postnatal offerings. Follow us on social media or join our newsletter to be the first to know when they launch!
-
Members who are pregnant are kindly asked to provide written medical clearance from their obstetrician (OB) or family doctor before joining any Reformer or Mat Pilates classes. The note should confirm that Pilates is safe for you during pregnancy. We also encourage you to let your instructor know about your pregnancy so they can provide the right modifications and support throughout class.
class scheduling & studio policy
-
To book a class, you’ll first need to create an account on our website and purchase either a membership or a class credit. You can also download the Valeō Pilates app from the Apple App Store or Google Play for easy booking on the go. Once you’re set up, simply head to our schedule and choose the time that works best for you!
-
Our instructors and class schedules may occasionally change. For the most up-to-date information, we recommend checking the Valeō class schedule regularly.
-
To get the most out of your class, we recommend arriving 10–15 minutes early to settle in. For safety and to minimize disruptions, studio doors lock 10 minutes after class begins. If you arrive after this time, you won’t be able to join the class and your credit will be forfeited.

Reformer Pilates is a dynamic full-body workout performed on a specialized piece of equipment called the reformer. It’s designed to build strength, improve flexibility, enhance balance, and support better coordination—all in one empowering practice.
-
Reformer Pilates emphasizes time under tension and smooth, controlled movements. With regular practice, you’ll notice improved strength, mobility, flexibility, and even an uplifted mood—along with many other benefits.
-
Joseph Pilates first developed his method, then called Contrology, during WWI while in an internment camp. He attached springs to hospital beds to help patients exercise without standing. That early invention eventually evolved into the reformer machines we use in studios today.
-
Mat Pilates uses minimal equipment and focuses on bodyweight exercises performed on the mat. Reformer Pilates, on the other hand, adds resistance through the reformer machine, creating a dynamic progression that’s both challenging and accessible for a wide range of practitioners.
-
Classical Pilates follows Joseph Pilates’ original method, focusing on his precise sequencing, control, and technique. Contemporary Pilates builds on this foundation, often incorporating props like balls, rings, or weights, and using music to create a group-fitness experience. At Valeō, we bring a contemporary twist to the classical method for a practice that’s both rooted and refreshing.
